Katy Swarbrigg
I have been a member of Malahide Camera Club for over 20 years which has been a truly rewarding experience.
Malahide Camera Club is a friendly environment where people with a shared interest meet. We have interesting speakers, go on organised outings, enter competition or choose not to. Photography is for enjoyment.
I really enjoy photographing nature. I have learnt new skills which has given me a deep appreciation of the natural world around us.
I have made wonderful friends, travelled to different places in Ireland and abroad with my camera.

Love Affair
Sanderling
I photographed this gorgeous little bird on Malahide beach at low tide on a bitterly cold February morning using an Olympus OM 1:1 camera and Olympus 300 mm fixed lens.
It is amazing how far these little birds travel. The Sanderling is a small wader coming from Siberia, passing through on their way towards areas as far as South Africa.
You will find the Sanderling running along sandy beaches, usually close to the water’s edge feeding on small crabs and other small invertebrates.
We have a nature group in Malahide camera club where we have the opportunity to see and photograph beautiful nature close by in all seasons.

Northern Gannet
The Gannet is a large sea bird usually found in colonies around the coast. Gannets fish at sea plunging from up to 40 metres hitting the water at break neck speed.
I photographed these romantic Gannets on Great Saltee Island which is a short ferry trip from Kilmore Quay, Co Wexford. Gannets are touchingly attentive to one another often presenting each other with gifts of flowers and grass .
I photographed these birds using Nikon D500 camera and 300 mm fixed lens.
