I have had an interest in photography for many years, and have been a member of Malahide Camera Club for nearly 20 years. I do not specialise in a particular genre, but on the whole I prefer monochrome, with graphic shapes and patterns, tones and textures.

Safe Harbour

This image was taken in Howth, Co Dublin.  As is often the case in Ireland, the sky was dull and completely lacking in detail, so I added a texture overlay for extra effect. By cropping to a square, the subject of the lighthouse becomes the focal point.

Squaring the Circle

This image was taken in Berlin. By removing the colour and converting to monochrome, the emphasis is placed on the lines and shapes, tones and textures. The two figures are used to give scale. The square crop was used to contrast with the circular shape of the window.
