Shay Farrelly LIPF AFIAP
I’m a member of Malahide Camera Club for 20 years and enjoy the following genres of photography in particular: Travel, Street, Landscape. I found joining a camera club has improved my photography greatly, but I also immensely enjoy the comradery and friendships I have made over the years through the club. I have been l been very lucky to have travelled extensively with these friends for photography workshops and trips which are extremely enjoyable and have given me great opportunities for photography.
I shoot with Fujifilm & Leica but I also enjoy drone photography & video.
Zaragoza Cathedral
Salute Venice
Zaragoza Cathedral
Zaragoza is the 4th largest city in Spain and capital of the province of Zaragoza and the autonomous community of Aragon. Located in north-eastern Spain at the heart of the Ebro Valley, midway on the corridor between Madrid and Barcelona. For such a large city it is surprisingly not a huge tourist attraction. Which makes it a great city to visit. We loved our trip to it in 2025 and would highly recommend it for its, history, architecture, food and culture.
This photograph of the Cathedral El Pilar is taken from the bridge Puente de la Almozara on the river Ebro at sunset. Since I didn’t have a tripod I sat the camera on the bridge wall.
Salute Venice
In January 2025 I was very fortunate to do a photography workshop in Venice. A stunning city to visit but in particular for photography.
This image of the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute is taken from a pier on the far side of the Grand Canal. It is taken at sunset with a slow shutter speed giving the Gondolas an ethereal look as they gently bob in the water.
