Ann Marie Haverty

My name is Ann Marie Haverty and I was very happy when I got the invitation to join Malahide Camera Club in September 2015. Since then I have enjoyed developing my hobby in the company of my many friends in MCC.

Sipping Nectar

This image shows a thirsty Kenyan Sunbird sipping nectar. Sunbirds are often referred to as Africa's hummingbirds. There are about 40 varieties in Kenya. I enjoyed photographing this tiny creature in contrast to the many huge animals I encountered and photographed during my stay in Kenya. I darkened the background in post processing to highlight the colours of the bird and the flower.

Red Headed Rock Agama

This image of a Rainbow Agama Lizard was taken in Samburu National Park in Kenya last September. I love how he popped his head up and welcomed us to his reserve wearing his technicoloured dreamcoat. It reminds me of the colourful dress of the Samburu tribe who live there and are known as the 'Butterfly People'.
