I have been an active member of Malahide Camera Club since 2010. Currently, my main focus is on fine art architecture, alongside street and landscape photography, though I enjoy exploring a wide range of genres. I also like to combine my passion for photography with travel - and seeking to capture inspiring locations, unique places and different cultures.

Venice Reflection
This image of Santa Maria della Salute was taken in December. The long exposure smooths the water of the lagoon into glass, turning the scene into a near-perfect reflection. Shot from a tripod with an ND filter, and processed using a muted and limited colour palette, I wanted to create a minimalist style for the image. Yet small human figures can be seen gathered near the entrance, and a modest Christmas tree with a red base provides the seasonal atmosphere. In Venice, where history is so evident, the photograph captures a balance between stillness, solitude and celebration.

This image of a vintage tram was taken in Lisbon's historic Alfama district. My idea was to get down low for a ground-level perspective. The camera aligns with the tram tracks, turning them into strong leading lines that converge toward the approaching tram. The low angle emphasises depth and draws the eye through the narrow street, framed by the old buildings. The soft, diffused light enhances the textures of the cobblestones while the tram adds a nostalgic focal point. The composition reflects a wish to find a different viewpoint, using symmetry, convergence, and urban character to capture both movement and a timeless atmosphere in a single image.
