Elisa Nishimura
My love of photography started when my children were small and I wanted to record every moment of their lives. I am a longtime member of Malahide Camera Club and I am grateful for the inspiration, guidance and specially the many friends I made there. My greatest passions are portrait photography, still life and wildlife.

Paraty is a seaside town in Brazil, known for its colonial architecture and beautiful and diverse wildlife. The owner of the lodge we stayed took us to a bird feeder. We saw many birds there, including the stricking gaturamo-verdadeiro. The bird kept looking at something, head moving up and down and it was only later that I realised that it was tracking a fly. Lucky shot!
Christ the Redeemer
Anyone spending some time in Rio de Janeiro will inevitably see the Christ the Redeemer. One could be walking in the iconic sidewalk in Copacabana beach or admiring the view in Guanabara bay and, unexpectedly, there it is, sometimes in clear view but often hiding behind tall buildings, trees or churches. I make a point of taking a photo every time I spot it.
This is one of my favourites. It was taken at sunset and I like the cold blues and golden colours. If you look closely you will spot a helicopter in the picture.
