Jimmy Meehan

I’ve been a proud member of the Malahide Camera Club since 2012, though my passion for photography began long before that. Joining the club truly helped that passion grow and develop in ways I hadn’t imagined.

I’d encourage anyone with an interest in photography to join a camera club — it’s a wonderful way to learn, improve, and share your love of capturing moments.

Morning Stroll at the Castle

"Early morning stroll at the Castle"-I love to capture images at sunrise and no better place to visit than Malahide Castle. With a gentle mist draping the castle and adding a real sense of atmosphere. By chance, a man out walking his dog passed through the scene, which brought the image to life.

It’s one of those moments where everything came together, and it remains a photograph I’m particularly fond of.

Black Beauty

"Man's Best Friends"

I love walking along Portmarnock Beach, and I captured this image early one morning as a man passed by with a beautiful black horse and a small terrier, which made for a beautifully natural scene.

It’s a photograph I’m especially proud of, and I’m delighted that it also performed so well in a national photography competition.
